Volume 1 was filmed onboard Orkney fishing vessels between 1983-1997 and includes various vessels from the UK and abroad, including trawlers and purse seine fishing vessels. Ports included in the tape are: Stromness, Peterhead, Scrabster, Aberdeen, Kirkwall and the Faeroe Islands.

'At The Fishing' - Volume 2

Volume 2 was filmed over a 30-year period between 1967-1997 on many different fishing vessels from Shetland. Featured on the tape are trawling, pair trawling, lobster fishing, sand-eel fishing and purse seine vessels. The tape is made up from both cine and videotape and shows at first hand how fishing techniques have changed over the years. Also on the tape are fishing vessels from Scotland and abroad.
